This photo was taken at the Piedmont Environmental Center, High Point, NC. I have a few favorite spots than grant me a view of the lake and, hopefully, some of the abundant wildlife. This day was not exception with Cormorants, Belted Kingfisher and Great Blue Herons doing their thing. This bird (I don't know the species sorry) alighted on a branch right near me and I grabbed three shots. This one stood out as the bird was looking right at me and the red leaves made for a Christmas Season feel

I grew up in this neck of the woods and loved fishing and camping here as a child. Came up a little late for the fall colors but was more concerned/interested in the water falls/rapids for some long exposures.

I took this photo on a trip back from Tennessee with my daughter. We stopped at Veterans Overlook in Grainger County to take a break, admire the view, and yes take a few photos. As we prepared to get back on the road and pull out, I looked over my left shoulder, saw the sun setting over the water and so I told my daughter we were getting back out. I grabbed my camera, we both walked down to the rocks and just sat there in awe of the beauty and the serene stillness of life. Even with light traffi

This photo was taken at on of my favorite spots by the water edge. I often sit here watching and waiting for Osprey, Blue Herons, Cormorants, Ducks, Belted Kingfishers, to name a few, all of whom are in abundance during most of the year.On this day the birds seemed to be on hiatus. The light however was spectacular and mixed with the early fall colors it made for a beautiful scene.

While on vacation last week, I was photographing waves and birds off the coast. This little fella flew up and decided he would pose a little for me. I told my wife "don't move", LOL. After a bit he decided his quest for food was just a little more important. So I thanked him as he flew off, but you know I don't think he cared, LOL. Seriously tho it was a great moment and I'm glad I was able to have that time with him!

Taken with Nikon D7500 with 300mm Nikkor lens. Two male Kingfishers possibly adult male and offspring sitting low by the River Crane. Light was low so had to use a high ISO. Because of this the image had to be denoised . It was then cropped and clarity and texture added in Lightroom. I have a nice triptych of them sitting in three different poses.
