I missed the ticket information from the event experience that was going to be taking place on 9/16/23 posted for the group. I got to Bailey Park and finally realized it was a ticketed event. I didn't think twice to let it deter me from making the most to enjoy the beautiful weather that day and capture some images and get some practice with my 70-200mm.

I live near the water. As I worked in my garden, this eagle landed near the water's edge. It stayed long enough for me to grab my good old Cannon Rebel and I was able to capture several images with my 200mm lens. The bird seemed to have no fear of me. I moved slowly peacefully towards it and I ended up about 25' away. I did not want to scare it, so I only captured a few images. When I had finished, the bird remained here for quite some time. It was an amazing experience. I did crop the image to

The first time a saw a Green Heron I had about a Nano-second to photograph it. They appeared to be very skittish and I could only photograph them from a distance. For this photograph I basically stumbled across this Green Heron perched above the lake about 40' away. He didn't seem to mind my presence at all. I spent a good 2 hours photographing this guy while he snatched dragonflies out of the air.

Shot this picture on my Canon EOS R, with my recently acquired Sigma 14mm f1.8 lens. It was captured at f/1.8, 1600ISO and 8 sec exposure.Having worked in Northern British Columbia and out of town for nearly 10 years, I became accustomed to the spectacular northern lights shows it had to offer! So I finally made the plunge in the last 6 months and got myself a real camera, and just last month picked up the new sigma lens. After getting off a 10 hour work day, I had a quick bite to eat fo
